Today is the first day of training with Akili Dada if you have no idea what I am talking about I would suggest you read this.
Today’s events made me realize that everything I was doing leading up to this opportunity was the equivalent of peeling potatoes in the kitchen. I do not know about you but, my first introduction to cooking was pounding garlic and ginger. I did that task for many years until I graduated to peeling onions and at times stirring the onions in the pan. That was my only contribution to the food we ate as a family. I believe at around 10 I was trusted enough to be given a knife to peel potatoes and other root vegetables. That progressed to slicing and dicing and eventually I started cooking under supervision before I was let to cook on my own.
I did not realize this was what was happening in my life. I was slowly graduating through the phases of life. I can say this training is equivalent to cooking under supervision. I wish I realized I was paying my dues earlier on. I think it would have humbled me and I would have enjoyed the process even more.
When we start a business or a project we all want it to succeed very fast. We forget there is a process of growth that we need to go through. In retrospect if Inteco had grown incredible fast my mistakes would have had more severe consequences and probably not have survived.
I keep asking myself. If I had given up where would I have been?
Until next time,
