This week I have been working on the separate elements of YouTube. I am in the process of working out a schedule. shooting and editing time. I am working on content and basically what I want you to experience on that platform. I appreciate the people who are popular on YouTube. In the States or the UK you hear YouTube career and I used to snicker. What type of career is sitting in your bedroom and talking to a camera? Oh how I was wrong.
Unlike traditional media where you have a content developer, light, camera and sound technicians and director been different people on YouTube you wear all those hats. As if that is not enough I am learning I must also be everybody in post production. I have no idea how to do any of this. Heck I hardly know how to use my phone!!
Filming my first video was fun but, really crazy. I kept messing up. I realized I need to know what I am going to say beforehand well, at least know where the video is going. My next lesson was I had to edit all the bloopers I had and arrange the video in a way that flowed. That took me literally hours on end. I remember sitting until the wee hours of the morning editing my 2015 part 1 and part 2.
It was not until a few weeks ago I decided I want to take YouTube seriously when I started getting into the technical bit of things. Not to mention I am also reading about shooting videos in RAW format on a DSLR. I know I will have to have some sort of learning curve when I get my camera. I have to learn how to use Adobe package. I need to learn how to be my own graphic designer and everything in between. I guess its no different than starting a business. Although, it is a lot.
Until next time
